Help for Haiti
In the wake of the devastating January 12 earthquake in Haiti, there is no better time to give our support as a community of Methodist Christians. There are two big ways to help. First is donating to UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Donations to UMCOR go 100% to relief efforts; none is taken for administrative overhead.
The second way to help is by donating time and items for a Yellowstone conference Mission Team who will be going to the UMCOR West Depot in Salt Lake City June 13 - 19, 2010, to spend time restoring UMCOR's supply of health kits. Annual Conference is collecting the items needed for the kit, including hand towels, soap, toothbrushes, and other sanitary equipment. The team will be 12 people, and each person will need $475 for food, lodging, and travel. The group is being led by Sandy Storment. For more information, email her at sdstorment@3rivers.net.
Items needed from the Bighorn district include:
- Hand Towels (15"x25" up to 17"x27") (No kitchen towels)
- Large Combs
- Bath-size bars of soap (3oz+)
