We are excited to announce that we will be resuming in-person worship in the sanctuary
on Easter Sunday (April 4, 2021)!
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about resuming worship at Grace. If you have any questions that we don't answer here, please reach out to Rev. Sarah (firstname.lastname@example.org) or the church office (email@example.com).
Why are we resuming worship now?
During the pandemic, we have been following the advice and requests of the Mountain Sky Conference Bishop's office and the COVID Task Force that the conference put together. In February, they released information saying that churches could resume in person worship when the positivity rate in the county where the church resides is at 4% or under. We will continue to meet in person unless the positivity rate falls below 4%. You can look at the Yellowstone County COVID numbers here. Find information from the Mountain Sky Conference COVID Task Force here.
Will there be restrictions in place when we return to the sanctuary?
There will be safety protocols that we will follow as a congregation in worship for the time being. These include:
MASKS will be required for all persons over the age of 5 years old. Masks must be worn over the nose and mouth and must be worn for the entirety of worship and anytime you are in the building.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING will be in place. Individual households will be spaced out during worship. The pews will be marked and an usher will direct you to your seat for worship.
DOORS WILL OPEN 15 minutes before worship in order to minimize the amount of time people will spend inside the building. Worship will be between 45 and 50 minutes long in order to honor a 1-hour exposure time.
FELLOWSHIP TIME will not be happening after worship for the time being. Folks are asked to visit on the lawn outside of the church as we did this summer during outdoor worship.
Is there a capacity limit for worship?
As we've created space 6-feet apart in the sanctuary, we believe we have room for around 50 separate households to worship safely in the sanctuary. We will seat as many households as we safely can. If all of the space is filled, folks will be asked to watch the service online.
What about the nursery and children's Sunday School?
Currently we will not be offering nursery or children's Sunday School.
Will there still be a worship service online if I'm not ready to come back to the sanctuary?
Yes! We will continue to offer an online service for folks who can't make it to worship or who are not comfortable being in person. The servie will be a live-stream of the in-person worship service and will be available live at 10:15 am on Sunday mornings on Facebook and YouTube (and then available throughout the week).
I still have more questions!
